Potential Good News

There is a possibility that Audrey doesn't have an infection at all. The doctors told us this morning that the bacteria that was growing was from the blood from the central IV line that was removed last night, and that there is a possibility that the bacteria is from a contaminant in the line and not actually in her body.

So, last night before they started her antibiotics, they drew some blood directly from her vein and not through an IV. This blood was put into culture to see if bacteria grows in it. If it does, Audrey has the infection and everything is as I said in the last post. If no bacteria grows, then it was a contaminant and Audrey doesn't have an infection.

If she does not have an infection, we should be able to come home sometime this weekend. They hope to be able to tell us for sure which it is by tomorrow. Please pray that it was a contaminant and not an infection.

Thank you all again for your prayers.

Wow, we just know God is growing you through all of this and it may be the looking back that tells you how. We continue to pray for His will that Audrey can go home and you can all be together again. After only four days in the hospital with Abigail, it began to feel like forever and the days and nights just mixed together with no sleep really at all. Be comforted in knowing that He is will you all at all times. Love and prayers,
Mike and Jeunesse

Oh I so hope it is just the line and not throughout. The fact that she didn't have a fever says most likely line. Prayers and fingers crossed!

So glad to see this update about the line being the culprit. Sounds very promising! Still here and still praying. Please let us know what we can do besides prayer. If you have to go home and Julie stay here, let me know what I could do.

Hang in there. I don't know what else to say other than I know how tired, frustrated, grateful and thankful you are all wrapped up in one spent body and spirit that just wants some normalcy!

Oh and Audrey is a little fighter just like our Susannah! Of that I am certain!!! PTL!
